Went to Melt today for lunch and it was amazing. I had the Fat City Burger and it had loads of meat on it, almost too much meat. Salami, bacon and a burger. Ugh. Heart attack burger. Is it me' or does it always take way long to get food at melt? It took almost 25 min for our food to come out.. I'm not complaining because the food is fan fucking tastic.. And stay outta my jeep! This past weekend was beautiful. Hot and sunny, and a perfect time to take the hardtop offa the jeep and install the bikini soft top dawn got for my birthday. So Sunday we worked out in the yard and about 7, we decided to take the top off. Its a 2 person job, and its a little awkward. Ok. So we then are putting the pieces of the soft top together and the sky looks like its gonna storm in a few min. We put everything away and I pull in the newly cleared out garage, and it pours for 15 min. Flash to Monday am. Hot sunny and I take the jeep to work. Well. I pick up dawn after work and meet some of her co-workers at dinner. Then at 8 it looks like the apocalypse in the sky, and it starts hammering down sheets of water and we wait it out for about 30min. So we leave the parking garage and I am speeding downtown so the rain has no chance to get in the top. It worked, sorta. To the yard... Did a shitload of work in the yard today, and it was super hot outside. 93 was the high, and we decide it would be a good idea to sweat our asses off cutting grass. splitting wood, shovelling mulch, weeding and cleaning out the garage. We started at about 130 and worked up til about 730. We would have kept going, but as we were trying to figure out how to put the soft top on my jeep, it got dark as hell out, so we started packing things up and getting ready for a thunderstorm. Just as we got in the house, it started raining. Oh well... Work day was over... We were glad cause we were both cranky and hungry.. I started writing a new noise/ambient track today, and I realized that I need to get some hardware that will allow to get more creative with what I am producing. Not that I am dissappointed with what I am writing, I think the final mixes are pretty pro sounding.. But I think a real synth or sequencer would be the tool that can take me over the edge. I've been software based and a VST overabuser for about 10 years now, I think its time to step up to some better equipment,. Maybe a moog or old korg? I need an analog synth to get started, and I'm sure I can find something (if not 20things) on eBay. My music has come a long way in 10 years. Watched the end of war games tonight. Hadn't seen that for probly 25 years. It was amazing to see hollywoods techno robo computer mass murderer in acton.. How about a nice game of chess? Then I started watching death wish 3. Wow. Another classic and another movie I haven't seen since 1986! Bronson was so cool, and the acting is even cooler... What a treat! Today I went and bought a wood splitting maul from Lowes. We have tons of wood that the elec company took down and wanna use it as firewood, so I learned rather quickly how to split wood. The first few strikes were awful.
